Kenya's capital and safari gateway, with a national park on the edge of the city.
Nairobi is the only capital city with a national park inside its limits. In Nairobi National Park you can see lions, rhinos and giraffes with the city skyline behind them.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust cares for orphaned elephants, and at the Giraffe Centre you can feed Rothschild's giraffes by hand. The Karen Blixen Museum recalls the colonial era of Out of Africa.
Nairobi is where most Kenyan safaris begin, with flights and roads to the Masai Mara, Amboseli and the coast. The dry seasons, June to October and January to February, are best for wildlife.
