Cox's Bazar has one of the longest unbroken sandy beaches in the world, running for around 120 kilometres south towards Teknaf. Hotels line the shore at Kolatoli and Sugandha, and the beach fills with families at sunset.

Drive the Marine Drive road south to Himchari and Inani, where rocks and coral stones sit on the sand. You can fly from Dhaka in about an hour, and a direct train from Dhaka has run since 2023.
