India's biggest city, with a colonial waterfront, street food on every corner and the sea along Marine Drive.
Mumbai is India's financial centre and the home of the Hindi film industry. In the south of the city, the Gateway of India looks out over the harbour, and the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco buildings of the Fort area are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Walk the seafront of Marine Drive at sunset, take the ferry to the cave temples of Elephanta Island, and try vada pav and pav bhaji at Chowpatty beach.
